Who handles your information
Biochips Explorer is owned and operated by Pacific Fund. Use the contact form for privacy questions, access requests or a request to delete a submission.
What we collect and why
When you send a message or suggest a correction, we collect the name, reply email, organisation, web links and message you choose to provide. We use these details to assess the submission, maintain the directory and respond. We do not automatically forward enquiries to suppliers or publish your contact information.
Storage and delivery
Submissions are stored in our private administrative database. A notification may also be sent to our configured business mailbox. Hosting and mail providers process that information as part of delivering these services. Please avoid sending confidential research, patient information or payment details.
Cookies and abuse prevention
Necessary session cookies protect forms and administrator sign-ins. Short-lived, keyed hashes of network addresses limit repeated requests. We use Google Analytics (G-EBP3JLBES7) on public discovery and information pages to understand visits and use of the Explorer. When it runs, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) to distinguish visits, and Google may receive browser/device information, network information and analytics cookie identifiers. Advertising storage, Google signals and ad personalisation are disabled in our tag configuration. We exclude admin, contact and contribution pages, and pages opened with query strings or fragments. We do not send submitted names, email addresses, message contents or search text to analytics. Our analytics page URLs omit query strings and fragments, and referral information is limited to the referring site’s origin. See how Google handles information from sites using its services. Standard hosting access logs may be retained by the hosting provider; form contents are not intentionally written to application logs.
Retention and deletion
We retain submissions while reviewing and responding. The administrative tools support permanent deletion. Resolved or rejected submissions can be removed after 180 days using the documented retention task. Database backups follow the operator’s backup schedule, so deleted data may remain in restricted backups until they expire. Mailbox copies are handled separately by the operator.
Optional analytics
If your device is set to a European time zone (the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and neighbouring territories), or reports no time zone, we ask before loading Google Analytics: it does not load and sets no analytics cookies unless you choose “Allow analytics”. Choosing “Essential only” keeps it off and removes any Google Analytics cookies on this site. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie preferences” button in the footer. Your time zone is read only inside your browser and is not sent to us; it is an approximation of location, so a traveller may see a different option.
For other visitors, Google Analytics loads automatically. You can turn it off for this browser with the button below, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block cookies or third-party scripts in your browser settings. We also respect Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals for every visitor. Your choice is saved in this browser’s local storage; essential form and sign-in sessions continue to work.
Your choices
Browsing the catalogue does not require an account. A reply email is optional for contributions unless you want a response. You may ask us to access, correct or delete the details you supplied through the contact form.
